It's Not About Rules

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 (NLT)

Anyone who has been around for awhile knows that we all mess up and fall short in life. People will sometimes forget that God understands this. He isn’t sitting there with a big stick waiting to condemn you. Instead, God is patiently waiting for you to run into His loving arms and compassionate heart. When we mess up, all He requires is that we repent (to turn from our past behavior) and ask Him to forgive us. The power of the Cross is that, in Christ, when we fall, we can always start anew.

Learning the principles of God is not about adding more rules between you and God. Rather, it's about learning God's way of doing things so that you can experience a personal relationship with Him. We are not earning His blessing or His love by following the “rules.” Instead, we are getting rid of the barriers that hold us back from experiencing the fullness of God's blessings that He already has waiting for each and every one of us. He loves you unconditionally, and there is no way to earn that. Jesus is the only way to the Father. No amount of rules or principles can ever gain us that spot.

Whatever your past may look like, remember that Jesus paid the price for it. Today let His forgiveness wash it away, and step into the freedom to move forward in all He has for you.
